M1 rifle
Description
The M1 Garand, designed by gun designer John C. Garand in 1928, was a gas-powered semi-automatic rifle equipped with an 8-round magazine assembly for .30-06 Springfield; with the last shot, the empty magazine was automatically ejected, producing a characteristic sound that was easily recognizable. Its effective firing range was 550 meters, providing high accuracy and charge availability. It is for these reasons that it became one of the most effective rifles of World War II.
