French carbine
Description
This is a reproduction of a flint-fuse carbine from the Napoleonic Wars era, made of metal and wood with an imitation of the loading and firing mechanism. Flint-fuse carbines used a flint or flint stone, which, when the trigger was pulled, produced a spark that ignited the gunpowder. These types of weapons required manual reloading after each shot. The cartridge, inserted through the barrel, consisted of gunpowder, a projectile and a paper gasket that served as a cover to hold the previous two inside the barrel.
