Description

The Army Model 1860 fake revolver was a .44 caliber, muzzle-loading, cap revolver used during the American Civil War. It was popular among cavalry, infantry and artillery units as a sidearm.

The 1860 Army revolver uses the same frame as the Model 1851 Navy .36 caliber revolver. The frame was modified to use a higher capacity cylinder, allowing the use of .44 caliber cartridges. Additionally, the Army 1860 has a shorter barrel, allowing for a longer cylinder. One of the key features of the 1860 revolver was the new design of the loading lever with a “crawling” mechanism. This design includes a kama interface between the lever and the barrel, which prevents the lever from falling out and locking up the revolver under heavy recoil during shooting.
