Flintlock Pirate Pistol
Description
Replica of a flintlock pistol, made of wood and metal, with an imitation of the loading and firing mechanism. Flintlock pistols, widely used by pirates in the 18th century, had a flint that, when struck by the hammer, created a spark that ignited the gunpowder. These weapons required manual reloading after each shot, as they were loaded through the muzzle with gunpowder, a shell and a paper wad. In combat, such pistols were usually used for one shot due to the slow reload, after which the fighters switched to sabers or used the pistol as a club.
